Become Familar with Vector Language

iStockphoto Tip: There are myriad ways to create clipping paths in your vector clip art. These paths make it easy for the user to make certain changes to the image to suit their purposes, such as cutting out a word within the vector clip art. Here are some ideas for clipping paths: *Even though there are a variety of tools in Photoshop to use when creating clipping paths, the pen tool is most often the best choice. *Zoom into vector clip art at least 200 percent so you can see the edge of what you are tracing. You can even zoom in closer if you want, but 200 percent is a good standard. *If you are tracing a figure, the clipping path needs to slightly shrink the image by staying inside the outer edge. Otherwise, you might end up with a "halo" effect. *Clipping paths don't have to be perfect initially. You can always tweak them later to tighten your selection.
